Bruce Kieler DrPH ’94, MPH ’88, MBA was an invited speaker at the annual Nuclear Uniform Curriculum Project Summit held in Jacksonville, Florida, February 9-10, 2011, and hosted by the Nuclear Energy Institute and the Institute for Nuclear Power Operations. His presentation focused on strategies for securing external funding for establishment and expansion of nuclear power technology training programs at community colleges. In July 2011, Kieler was a visiting Fulbright scholar at the International Workshop on Tamil Epigraphy, sponsored by the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes of the University of Paris (the Sorbonne). The workshop was held July 10-23, 2011, in Tamil Nadu, India. Kieler and other Tamil language researchers from France, Italy, Sri Lanka, and India received advanced training in techniques used to trace and preserve centuries-old inscriptions carved on stone in Hindu temples, royal monuments, border markers, and cave shrines in Thanjavur District.
