Felicia Schanche Hodge holds a joint position as professor in the Schools of Public Health and Nursing at UCLA. She teaches courses in family health-related theory, research methods, and the ethical conduct of research. She has had an active program of cancer research focusing on American Indian and Indigenous populations. Her work includes studies on tobacco use, cancer screening (colorectal and cervical) and obesity. She has just completed a 6-year NCI supported R01 to study barriers to cancer related symptoms (pain, depression, fatigue, and loss of function) among American Indians in the Southwest. Her current award is a T32 pre and postdoctoral training program in vulnerable populations and health disparities.
