Snehendu KarSnehendu Kar writes, “I have just received the confirmation of Fulbright-Nehru Distinguished Chair award for my research on ‘Empowerment of Women for Global Health Promotion.’ This award has two objectives: (1) to complete my research for my book on ‘Women’s Empowerment for Global Health Promotion’ for the Oxford University Press. The book includes a meta-analysis of 80 successful self-organized movements by ordinary women across the world. It did not have cases that have failed for comparison- because no one writes about failures. This award is to document several cases that have failed and learn why; and (2) to introduce health psychology programs in two Indian universities. ( I am an elected fellow of three divisions of the American Psychological Association for my work in health psychology.)”
