S. Malvern Dorinson MD, BS ’42 writes, “I graduated with a BS in public health in May 1942. At that time there was no School of Public Health. We were prepared to be either epidemiologists and/or lab directors. I could have been city health officer in Oakland. However, I chose to go on and received an MD at UCSF in February 1946. I specialized in physical medicine and rehabilitation in San Francisco these many years and am still practicing part-time today.”
